Returns & Refunds
Last updated: September 9, 2026
Ant’s Sketchbook wants customers to understand clearly when returns, exchanges, or refunds may be available.
Because the store may sell both physical artwork and digital artwork, different rules apply depending on the type of product purchased.
By placing an order through Ant’s Sketchbook, you agree to this Returns & Refunds Policy in addition to our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Shipping Policy.
Physical Artwork and Physical Products
Unless otherwise stated on the product page, eligible physical products may be returned within 14 days of confirmed delivery.
To qualify for a return, the item must:
- be returned in substantially the same condition in which it was received;
- be unused, unaltered, undamaged, and free from signs of handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the item;
- include any original packaging, certificates, documentation, protective materials, or accessories supplied with the order; and
- be accompanied by sufficient information for Ant’s Sketchbook to identify the applicable order.
Ant’s Sketchbook reserves the right to deny a refund or reduce the refundable amount where returned merchandise has been damaged, altered, used, mishandled, or returned incomplete, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Return Authorization
Customers should contact Ant’s Sketchbook before returning any physical product.
Returns sent without prior notice or without sufficient identifying information may be delayed or rejected if Ant’s Sketchbook cannot reasonably associate the returned item with a valid purchase.
Customers should not send returns to an address other than the return address provided by Ant’s Sketchbook.
Return Shipping Costs
Unless the return results from an error by Ant’s Sketchbook or the item arrives damaged or materially different from what was ordered, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable except where:
- Ant’s Sketchbook shipped the incorrect item;
- an item arrived materially damaged due to circumstances attributable to fulfillment or shipping;
- applicable law requires otherwise; or
- Ant’s Sketchbook expressly agrees otherwise.
Customers are encouraged to use a trackable shipping method for returns. Ant’s Sketchbook is not responsible for returned merchandise that is lost, misdirected, or damaged before being received.
Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Physical Orders
If a physical item arrives damaged, defective, or materially different from what was ordered, contact Ant’s Sketchbook as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
You may be asked to provide information reasonably necessary to evaluate the issue, including:
- photographs of the item;
- photographs of the packaging;
- the order number;
- a description of the issue; and
- other relevant delivery information.
If Ant’s Sketchbook confirms that the item was damaged, defective, or incorrectly fulfilled, we may, as appropriate, offer a replacement, repair, exchange, partial refund, or full refund.
The available remedy may depend on the nature of the item, whether an equivalent replacement exists, and applicable law.
Original, One-of-One, Limited, Personalized, or Commissioned Artwork
Certain products may not be eligible for ordinary returns, including:
- original one-of-one artwork;
- personalized or customized artwork;
- commissioned work;
- made-to-order products;
- limited pieces where the product page expressly states that sales are final; and
- products materially altered at the customer’s request.
Where such a restriction applies, it will ordinarily be disclosed on the applicable product page or agreed upon before purchase.
This does not limit any rights that cannot legally be waived.
Digital Artwork and Digital Products
Except where required by applicable law, digital products are generally non-returnable and non-refundable once they have been delivered, downloaded, accessed, made available for download, or otherwise electronically provided to the customer.
Digital products cannot ordinarily be “returned” in the same manner as physical goods. Once a customer has received or obtained access to a digital file, Ant’s Sketchbook may be unable to verify that all copies have been deleted or that the product has not been retained.
Accordingly, customers should review product descriptions carefully before purchasing digital artwork.
Digital Delivery Problems
If you experience a legitimate technical problem preventing access to a purchased digital product, contact Ant’s Sketchbook before initiating a payment dispute.
Where appropriate, Ant’s Sketchbook may attempt to:
- resend a download link;
- provide an alternative delivery method;
- correct an access problem;
- replace a corrupted or incomplete file; or
- otherwise ensure that the purchased digital product is delivered as represented.
A technical delivery issue does not automatically create a right to a refund where Ant’s Sketchbook can reasonably correct the issue and provide the purchased product.
Duplicate Digital Purchases
If you accidentally purchase the same digital product more than once, contact Ant’s Sketchbook promptly.
Ant’s Sketchbook may, at its discretion and subject to verification of the duplicate transaction, refund an unintended duplicate purchase.
Refund Eligibility
A refund may be issued where Ant’s Sketchbook determines that one is appropriate under this Policy, including where:
- a qualifying physical return has been received and accepted;
- the wrong physical item was shipped;
- an eligible physical item arrived materially damaged;
- a digital product was never successfully delivered and the issue could not reasonably be corrected;
- a duplicate transaction occurred;
- Ant’s Sketchbook cancelled an order before fulfillment; or
- applicable law requires a refund.
Refund requests may be denied where the request falls outside this Policy or where Ant’s Sketchbook reasonably determines that the request involves abuse, fraud, misrepresentation, or an attempt to retain the benefit of a product while reversing payment.
Refund Processing
Approved refunds will ordinarily be issued to the original payment method.
After Ant’s Sketchbook initiates a refund, the time required for funds to appear in your account depends on the payment processor, bank, card issuer, or financial institution involved.
Ant’s Sketchbook does not control processing delays imposed by those third parties.
Order Cancellation
Orders may be cancelled only if Ant’s Sketchbook receives and approves the cancellation request before fulfillment or delivery begins.
Once a physical product has shipped or a digital product has been delivered or made available, the order may no longer be cancellable and will instead be subject to the applicable return or refund rules above.
Custom, commissioned, or made-to-order work may be subject to separate cancellation terms.
Fraud, Abuse, and Misrepresentation
Ant’s Sketchbook reserves the right, to the extent permitted by law, to deny or limit returns, refunds, replacements, or other remedies where there is reasonable evidence of:
- fraudulent purchasing activity;
- intentional misrepresentation;
- repeated abusive return or refund behavior;
- false claims regarding non-delivery;
- false claims that a digital product was not accessed or received;
- manipulation of return or refund procedures;
- unauthorized use of another person’s payment method; or
- other conduct intended to improperly obtain artwork, products, services, or funds.
Ant’s Sketchbook may also restrict or refuse future transactions from accounts reasonably associated with fraudulent or abusive activity.
Payment Disputes and Chargebacks
Customers experiencing a legitimate problem with an order are strongly encouraged to contact Ant’s Sketchbook first so that the issue can be reviewed and, where appropriate, resolved directly.
Nothing in this Policy prevents a customer from exercising any lawful rights available through a payment provider or financial institution.
However, Ant’s Sketchbook reserves the right to contest payment disputes or chargebacks that it reasonably believes are inaccurate, fraudulent, abusive, or inconsistent with the facts of the transaction.
In connection with a payment dispute or chargeback, Ant’s Sketchbook may provide relevant evidence to Shopify, payment processors, financial institutions, card networks, fraud-prevention providers, dispute administrators, or other appropriate parties.
Such evidence may include, where relevant:
- order records;
- billing and transaction information;
- payment authorization information;
- shipping records;
- carrier tracking information;
- delivery confirmation;
- digital delivery records;
- download or access records;
- customer account information;
- communications with the customer;
- refund or cancellation records;
- applicable product descriptions and store policies; and
- other information reasonably relevant to establishing the circumstances of the transaction.
Information used in connection with these matters is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Physical Delivery Evidence
For physical orders, shipping carrier records, tracking information, delivery confirmation, signature confirmation where applicable, and other fulfillment records may be used as evidence that an order was shipped or delivered.
A carrier’s confirmed delivery status may be considered when evaluating claims of non-delivery, subject to the circumstances of the particular order.
If a package is marked delivered but cannot be located, the customer should promptly contact both Ant’s Sketchbook and, where appropriate, the shipping carrier.
Digital Delivery Evidence
For digital purchases, Ant’s Sketchbook may maintain or rely upon records showing that a digital product was:
- sent;
- made available for download;
- delivered to the email address provided with the order;
- accessed through a customer account;
- downloaded; or
- otherwise electronically fulfilled.
Such records may be considered when reviewing refund requests, claims of non-receipt, payment disputes, or chargebacks.
Intellectual Property and Refunds
Receiving a refund does not grant the customer any additional right to use, reproduce, distribute, publish, resell, modify, license, or otherwise exploit artwork belonging to Ant’s Sketchbook.
Where a refund is issued for a digital product, any license or permission associated specifically with that purchase may terminate to the extent stated in the Terms of Service or applicable license terms.
Intellectual property rights relating to artwork are governed separately by our Terms of Service, product-specific terms, and applicable law.
Promotional, Discounted, and Final-Sale Items
Certain products may be designated as:
- final sale;
- non-returnable;
- discounted with special return restrictions; or
- otherwise subject to product-specific terms.
Where special conditions apply, those conditions will ordinarily be disclosed on the product page or during checkout.
Any such terms remain subject to rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Exchanges
Where exchanges are offered, the availability of an exchange depends on product availability.
For unique or one-of-one artwork, an identical replacement may not exist. In those situations, Ant’s Sketchbook may offer another appropriate remedy where required or appropriate.
Digital products are generally not eligible for exchanges after delivery or access unless Ant’s Sketchbook determines that an exchange is appropriate to correct a technical or fulfillment error.
Suspected Unauthorized Transactions
If you believe your payment method was used without authorization, contact your financial institution and Ant’s Sketchbook promptly.
Ant’s Sketchbook may cooperate with payment processors, financial institutions, Shopify, law enforcement, or other appropriate parties when investigating suspected payment fraud or unauthorized transactions.
Legal Rights
This Policy is intended to establish Ant’s Sketchbook’s ordinary return and refund practices.
Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or waive consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or waived under applicable law.
Where applicable law conflicts with a provision of this Policy, the applicable legal requirement will control to the extent of that conflict.
Changes to This Policy
Ant’s Sketchbook may update this Returns & Refunds Policy from time to time to reflect changes to products, fulfillment methods, business practices, payment processing, or applicable legal requirements.
Any revised policy will be posted through the Services with an updated revision date.
Unless otherwise required by law, the version in effect at the time of a transaction will generally govern that transaction.
